Product Description

This Hopi overlay pendant was made by Willis Humeyestewa from Second Mesa on the Hopi Reservation.  He uses a medium weight of silver to make his pendents.  He starts by stenciling out the top piece with traditional designs.  Then he solders the bottom half on and etches into the bottom piece of silver.  The entire piece is oxidized and shined.  The etched channels in the negative space retain the oxidation and remain black, forcing the design to be more obvious.
